Which Score and Model Do We Use?
Lenders will evaluate your credit score from each of the three credit bureaus. They will use a specific scoring model to determine your creditworthiness and ultimately decide whether or not to approve your loan. Mortgage lenders will use FICO scores whereas Credit Karma and other sites will use Vantage Score, which are not the same. Lenders will use the middle score of the three credit scores to make their decision. So, it's important to maintain good credit across all three bureaus to increase your chances of qualifying for the loan you need.
